  2. Streamlined Documentation: To standardize the identification process, reducing the need to carry multiple documents for various schemes.
  3. Easy Access to Benefits: With a UDID card, PwDs can easily access government schemes and benefits without the need for repetitive document submission.
  4. Transparency: It helps in tracking the actual number of PwDs in the country, thus promoting better policy implementation and planning.

Benefits of UDID Card:

  • Universal Recognition: A single ID card recognized across India.
  • Hassle-free Services: Easy access to government schemes, scholarships, employment benefits, and other welfare programs.
  • Portability: The card is applicable across states and departments.

How to Apply:

  1. Online Registration: PwDs or their guardians can visit the official UDID portal (www.swavlambancard.gov.in) and fill in the required details.
  2. Document Submission: Upload necessary documents like disability certificate, proof of identity, and other relevant information.
  3. Card Issuance: After verification, a UDID card is issued, which can be downloaded and printed.

The UDID card is designed to be a long-term solution for better data management and welfare of persons with disabilities in India.
